Erin Harris

Teaching Fellow

Erin Harris is the Chief Program Officer of the Barbershop Harmony Society, an international nonprofit focused on enriching lives through singing. She helped bring about the organization’s new vision, Everyone in Harmony. For an organization that started in 1938 as an all white men’s singing membership association, she is passionate about being a social impact intrapreneur and leading broad, complex, and deeply relevant organizational transformation.

Erin’s life goal is to create more empathetic and compassionate human beings by providing millions of opportunities where all people can make meaningful connections. Whether that’s sharing a meal, a dance, a song, an adventure — creating more harmony in the world. Over the past 15 years, she has used her project management, sustainable business practices, and measurement & evaluation tools to actualize the impacts and increase the sustainability of corporations, small businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies. Erin has her Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and International Business, her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and a Master’s in Sustainability with a focus on sustainable tourism.

Now for something a little different…Erin loves to dance and sing, and she doesn’t care how well. Erin is the oldest of four sisters – they can tell. Erin is passionate about her spiritual path, holistic wellness (so many supplements!) and meditation (visit her Zen Den) and has a one-year-old husky mix named Lil’ Kim; she also wants a turtle (ASAP). She’s currently learning to play the ukulele, refreshing her Spanish skills, and studying herbalism and foraging. When she’s not trying to create more harmony in the world, she’s grounding herself in nature, planning trips to new places, and/or reading a good book. Erin focuses her heart work and energies on the arts, animals, neuroscience research, equity through education, and empowering women.
