Philly Youth Summer Social Impact Program

The Center for Social Impact Strategy (CSIS) at the University of Pennsylvania believes that anyone, anywhere, can change the world. CSIS is offering an exciting curriculum in social innovation for high school students in the Philadelphia region.

The course empowers students with the foundations of social innovation as they learn the strategies and tools needed to create positive change.

This is an exciting fast-paced 4-week program, featuring 90 minute synchronous workshops each day Monday-Thursday.  The program Launch Day and Celebration will be in-person, outdoors, on the University of Pennsylvania campus, weather permitting. The rest of the curriculum is delivered virtually, using the learning management system Canvas as an asynchronous central online learning space where students can take quizzes, submit assignments, and participate in discussion boards. All videos are closed captioned. Through this content students will develop community, work on social impact projects of their own design, and learn more about improving the world around them.

On completion of the curriculum, students will have developed and tested a working prototype. Students who have completed all requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion from the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Social Impact Strategy.
